Bible Studies

At South Highland we challenge ourselves and others to grow spiritually through worship, education, nurture, discussion, fellowship, and evangelism, and also to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit in prayers, works and actions to strengthen our saving faith. South Highland seeks to help everyone in our church family to develop a basic knowledge and experience of the Christian faith and biblical heritage, and to understand that we are children of God and Disciples of Christ. A Disciple is a learner. All Disciples, of all ages, need to continue to learn. God expects this of us. We hope you find a way for you and your family to be involved in study.

Childcare is offered during worship and congregational activities, for children age 6 weeks through pre-kindergarten, in a loving and secure setting. Trained childcare workers are joined by volunteers from the congregation to provide care for our littlest brothers and sisters, in our clean and spacious nursery area. Your child can enjoy safe play that promotes spiritual and physical development in a loving, Christ-centered atmosphere. Our caring leaders will work with parents to help introduce young children to spiritual truths and love of Jesus. For added peace of mind, vibrating pagers are available for parents to use while at the church.

South Highland is also home to a complete child day care program; click here for information on the SHPC Child Development Center.

Our classes for school-age children strive to teach young children by doing, not sitting as we study the stories of the Bible. Our curriculum helps them study Bible lessons in a creative, active way that captures their attention and keeps them coming back for more. At South Highland, children will find a place where they can grow in Christ, learn about the Bible, and meet good friends.

Young people from sixth through twelfth grade enjoy an exciting and involving course of study in an informal, discussion-oriented format. Our youth ministry gives youth the power they need to face the challenges of school, relationships, and family. In a world where the future seems not only uncertain, but also sometimes grim, they are encouraged and equipped to change their world for Christ. And that's just the beginning of what's happening for our youth — for information on other youth activities, click here.

If you think grownup Sunday School is only about sitting around drinking coffee, think again. South Highland offers a variety of classes for adults. Come worship and study God's word with people who will reach out to you with the love of Christ. Your heart will be encouraged each week as you gather around tables with people who care and hear spiritual lessons that will strengthen your walk with God. Click here to learn more about some of our classes.
