Daily Bible Readings —
And we also thank God continually because, when you

received the word of God, which you heard from us, you

accepted it not as the word of men, but as it actually

is, the word of God, which is at work in you who believe.

1 Thessalonians 2:13

Your Opportunity To Respond To the

Haiti Earthquake Disaster

In the aftermath of the immense tragedy caused by the level 7 earthquake in Haiti, we are receiving your special gifts for disaster relief through the Church Office.  These may be designated through one of two special avenues of relief.

Presbyterian Disaster Agency (PDA) – operated through our national PCUSA offices in Louisville.  They distribute funds to particular areas that come to their attention through mission partners in Haiti and are highly accountable.

Haiti Education Foundation – one of our Witness Season Recipients, initiated by Ed Hurley’s childhood Sunday School teacher, Mrs. Frances Landers of El Dorado, Arkansas.  Under Mrs. Landers’ visionary leadership Presbyterians around the U.S. have built over 50 primary and secondary schools, fund the teachers and tuitions for thousands of Haitian children annually.  Several of their schools were severely damaged.

Please make your check out to SHPC and designate your gift to

either the PDA or the Haiti Education Foundation.

All Churches and Synagogues in the Southside Faith Community, of which we are a part, are being encouraged to report in their congregation’s giving totals in so that we can together make a significant united faith response to this immense tragedy.
