Growing up in today's world is tough! Youth
and children must be able to face this reality and live with purpose, hope,
faith, and joy. We believe passionately that these qualities of life are
uniquely found in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
LOGOS
at South Highland seeks to foster this relationship through a system of
nurturing ministry for young people from kindergarten through senior highs.
The goals of South Highland’s LOGOS program are threefold:
Building
Christian relationships; Nurturing our young people into a committed
relationship with Jesus Christ; and Preparing them for a life of
Christian discipleship. Four primary, weekly components of the program help
us achieve these goals:
-
Bible
Study
– In age-appropriate grade-level groups, we use the “Faith for Life”
curriculum to help nurture children into intelligent, obedient, and
Biblically-formed discipleship.
-
Worship Skills – Worship is our primary
service to God as disciples. Through choirs and other activities, children
learn about worship and prepare to participate in Sunday morning services.
-
Family Time – The family of God
fellowships over a shared meal each week. With young people assigned to
tables and adults as “table parents,” the group becomes a family,
celebrating birthdays and engaging in purposeful conversation.
-
Recreation/Play Time – The goal here is
to experience great fun at the expense of no one else. Young people engage
in active play and craft activities guided by adults, strengthening
friendships and working through conflicts together.
