Hey, we’re Presbyterians – eating meals together is practically in the Book of Order. Friends Eating And Sharing Together — FEAST — is a favorite South Highland tradition. FEAST groups are a way for small groups to gather in homes to share a meal and fellowship. One member of the group hosts the meal and provides the main dish. The rest of the group each brings a different part of the meal. Then you get to sit back, eat good food, and enjoy good company! FEAST is especially encouraged for all new members of South Highland. This is one of the very best ways to really get to know some of your fellow South Highlanders. Groups are formally organized once a year (though new participants are always invited). This allows those with busy schedules to stretch meetings out over nine months, or even to meet more than once a month. Parents of small children are especially invited to participate and utilize the FEAST Child Care Exchange. Parents in different FEAST groups become “child care partners” with another couple, watching each other's children during FEAST gatherings.
For more information on FEAST groups, call the
church office or Jim or Joan Goodson at 871-3655. |
